Hey folks, to the three of you that will read this anyway:
I just got cast in my first national tour of "Damn Yankees!" I am ensemble and understudying the role of Meg. I thought I'd start up this little ditty to let those of you who care know about where I am and the adventures I will be on.
I just signed the contract (they can't get rid of me now!) and my first two weeks of rehearsals will be in NYC starting the day after Christmas, which means New Year's will be in the NYC area (although quite frankly, that has no appeal to me whatsoever). I am nervous to meet everyone, but the people I've met so far seem really nice and relatively normal.
Since I will be everywhere from Florida and Arizona to Idaho and a Dakota or two between January and April, I have NO IDEA what to pack. Eep! I definitely have some shopping to do, but if any pros out there who have done this before have traveling tips, please help a sister out!
I'm excited to start this new adventure, meet new people, and see the country. A national tour. Bam.
Greta, Congratulations! I can suggest you friend my friend Wendi who has done MANY national tours. I can't wait to see the schedule!
ReplyDeleteI'm the Queen of Packing Light (just ask Jenn), and after 14 concert tours, I can probably help you with a packing list. I just need to know your luggage allowance.
ReplyDeleteI need someone to live vicariously through. I think you'll do just fine.
ReplyDeleteTwo "reasonable" suitcases, one for every day and one for storage/ laundry, and a carry on. Shouldn't be too difficult, but the climate differences will be a bear!
ReplyDeleteso excited for you, my friend....break legs!
